Heather Kepski
B.A. (UNSW), M.A. with merit (Uni. Syd), Dip. Ed. I was a cross-cultural psychologist for over 30 years & have travelled extensively. My art is naturally a reflection of and on my life experiences. I try to challenge the viewer with cross cultural images which are layered and intended to explore stereotypical concepts of socio-political issues. I try to capture the simple things of life that make our lives manageable during difficult times as well as trying to engage viewers to explore the more complex issues that lie beyond the surface of the paper. As Degas said, “It is not what you see, but what you get others to see.” My work has gone to private collectors all over Australia and to England, France, Hong Kong and the USA. My figurative work has attracted a number of commissions and has been purchased by the NSW Government, private collectors in France, USA, England, Hong Kong, NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
